Expressing vulnerability can be a complicated process for me, perhaps a result of my upbringing in post-Soviet Siberia. I was encouraged to hide any vulnerability as this was understood to be a sign of weakness. I discovered that I could, instead, express myself through art. Quite possibly, this explains the deeply emotional and melancholic vibe of my work.
